She united both worlds and helped bring Tejano music to the forefront. Much like of a brilliant and friendly star is lost in a hurry the tragic loss of her life shattered her growing profile. Many mourned all of its untapped potential. The result is that fans were inspired throughout through the years to dig their heels even harder working to ensure her successes won't be lost in the dust. Selena was the Tejano performer who tragically shot to death in a shooting accident, caused the Latino reaction that can be thought of as similar to the reactions to the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's deaths. The music of Selena an artist who was hugely popular in Latino Communities across North America touched people young as well as old. Selena was a hot and flamboyant stage performer and was often called her as the Latina Madonna. In her off-stage life, Selena was also an excellent role model since she actively participated in antidrug and AIDS campaigning.
